It’s official, Concorde 216 , G-BOAF, will be removed from public display, weekend commencing 29th October. There are no plans in place for any future display to the public, of this aircraft .

Welcome to Heritage Concorde!

Heritage Concorde  is a site that brings together the latest facts and technical information concerning the greatest passenger aeroplane ever built. Heritage Concorde is owned by Stephen de Sausmarez, who supports all the efforts for a heritage flight, and the preservation of all the remaining Concorde Airframes around the world in memory of this technical miracle.

There are 18 Concorde’s preserved around the world in memory of this too short supersonic passenger era. These aircraft will serve as a lasting reminder of the ‘Heritage of Concorde’. The unrivalled expertise and cutting edge technology in Britain and France, that produced the world’s only successful supersonic airliner.

Concorde was born of dreams, built with vision and operated with pride. Concorde has become a legend and part of our heritage.

Concorde is one of the wonders of the modern technical world – the first commercially-successful airliner capable of speeds in excess of Mach 2 (twice the speed of sound) Concorde is an outstanding aeroplane, it is a technical miracle, and more. For the men who designed and constructed her, the crews who tested her, for those within British Airways and Air France involved in her operation – flying her,  maintaining her, marketing her – and for her passengers, Concorde was a way of life.

The story of Concorde is a story of survival. In her long history, it has been vulnerable in four main areas. Technically, environmentally, politically and economically. Many times she had stood close to extinction. But she survived, thanks to the dedication, faith and belief of those who controlled her destiny at various critical phases of her life until 2003 when a group of short-sighted men within BA, Air France and Airbus SAS grounded her before her time.The design, construction and maintenance teams have overcome many and varied problems, and Concorde became a safe, proven. Reliable and totally unparalleled piece of aviation technology flying the world’s air routes.

Now the battle for survival begins again, the fight for a heritage flight!
