Concorde Operations – London Heathrow

British Airways Scheduled Concorde Services Departing & Arriving at London-Heathrow

British Airways’ first commercial supersonic flight flew from London Heathrow to Bahrain on 21 January 1976. British Airways’ first Concorde flight to New York from Heathrow was in November 1977. The last ever Concorde flight took-off from Heathrow during November 2003 bound for Filton in Bristol.

During the 27 years that British Airways operated their fleet of Concorde’s, all seven of them that were in service were based at Heathrow, another Concorde G-BBDG was kept at Filton and used for spare parts. Today in 2010 only one Concorde remains at Heathrow airport G-BOAB, and there is now a fight to keep her there.

When Concorde returned to flight following the Paris crash in November 2001, British Airways only returned 5 airframes to operation service, but there were plans to return a 6th Concorde to operational service.

The last operational  Concorde services operated by British Airways from November 2001 – October 2003
